Take a look at the illustration for reference. All kits are designed for the specific make and body style to ensure maximum wheelbase. For example, four-door long box trucks have the longest wheelbase, as shown on the right-side example. All kits are shipped with full-length head pipes to be compatible with that maximum length. Using long head pipes eliminates extra exhaust joints and extends the life of the system, in addition to enhancing the overall appearance.

For all wheelbase trucks, start by removing the factory exhaust (cutting locations are provided in the instructions) and then install the MPI Pulse Chamber. Following this, install one head pipe and use a tape measure to determine the distance from the rear end tube, marking it on the head pipe as per your kit instructions. This sets the length of the head pipes according to your truck's wheelbase. Cut both head pipes to this measurement and proceed with the installation.

Next, install the muffler pack onto the head pipes. Measure the distance from the rear end tube to the muffler case, ensuring precise installation to ensure that the tailpipes and rear muffler hanger kits fit as intended. This also ensures proper clearances for rear-end up/down travel. Install the right and left tailpipes, followed by the tips. Accurate measurements taken earlier will make this part of the installation much smoother.
